Kennedy & Santa

A couple of weeks ago, we took Kennedy to see Santa. As to be expected, she wasn't as excited about getting her picture made with Santa as we were. All in all, we have some no-tear pictures with Santa for Kennedy's 2nd Christmas. I must say she did look very cute even though she wasn't all smiles!

Here's a quick picture that Jeremy took during the Kennedy's visit with Santa.

Staying Busy

Kennedy has no trouble finding things to "work on" around the house. This week she has been very busy working with her booster seat. She can now climb in & out; stand in it; sit down, fasten herself in (which she does not like because she can't undo it!), & put her tray over her lap. So guess you could say this has definitely been one of her favorite toys this week. Wonder what she will be working on next week?

Good little Sleeper

Kennedy got a pillow for her 1st Birthday & she loves it!
She will be ready for her big girl bed in no time!

Weekend on Strong Road

While Jeremy & I were in Tuscaloosa for McCall's Wedding, Kennedy spent the weekend with Papa C & Gigi. They all had a Blast! Jeremy & I really missed her, but she loves the farm life so we knew she was enjoying every minute.

Kennedy always enjoys meal time at Strong Road.

Cousin Alexia stopped by for a visit

Kennedy helped Papa C decorate the outside Christmas tree

Cuddling with Gigi

Kennedy's favorite part of her time at Strong Road is the time spent outside.
They take her on lots of wagon rides!

She loves to go visit all the miniature horses at the neighbor's house. They are so sweet & gentle with Kennedy & just her size.

They let her pull their hair & love all over her.

Kennedy just giggles the whole time!

Kennedy can't wait to stop & visit the horses again.

And as always, she must check on the Cows at Strong Road.
Every time she sees the cows, she starts mooing!

Thank you Papa C & Gigi for taking such good care of Kennedy this weekend. She had a wonderful time & can't wait to stay with you again soon!

Congrats McCall & Rickie

This past weekend, I was the Matron of Honor in my best friend McCall's wedding in Tuscaloosa. It was a wonderful wedding weekend & we are so excited for McCall & Rickie. They are a perfect match!

The happy couple!

1 Year Check-Up

Kennedy had her 1 year checkup on Friday. Except for the shots, everything went really well. She has definitely hit a growth spurt. She was 31 inches long (95%), 19pounds, 8 ounces (25%), and her head was 46cm (75th). The doctor was very pleased with all her stats & even more impressed with her mental & physcial development. There is no doubt, she is a very smart kid. The doctor said she was definitely ahead for her age in her vocabulary & motor skills. If you have ever been around Kennedy, you know that she is quite the Chatty Kathy & stays very busy!

Turning 1 Year Old...

Big Day = Special Memories = Lots of Pictures!

On Kennedy's 1st Birthday, Jeremy & I took off work so that we could have a fun day with Kennedy! From the moment she woke up, we celebrated her Special Day. There were several mini parties with singing & candles throughout the day.
Breakfast Birthday Party!

One of the 1st presents Kennedy got to open was her new ELMO!

She loves Elmo. They did a lot of laughing, hugging & talking!

She really loved her new monogrammed dress from Aunt Lisa!

She was napping during the opening of Papa C & Gigi's big gift. They definitely were too generous & after opening their gift...there is no doubt big things come in small packages!
This is a picture of Kennedy saying "Gigi!"

We started the day out with some shopping! Kennedy got her 1st pair of big girl walking shoes. She looks so cute in her new white Stride Rite high tops. There is just something about those shoes that says...I am officially a toddler.
After a little shopping, we had a big lunch at the Cracker Barrel.
It has a great menu for our high maintenance eater.
Since Kennedy has been eating table food, she prefers casseroles.
She is definitely not a chicken nugget & grill cheese kid.
Kennedy really enjoyed her chicken & dumplings.

Next we took Kennedy to the Zoo. Being that she loves animals, it was a great place to celebrate her Birthday. She waved, clapped, and talked to all the animals. She had the best time. We will definitely be making many more trips to the Zoo.

Kennedy really wanted to chase the peacocks.

So we chased the peacocks...she is really putting those new shoes to work!

Somebody is having FUN!

Trying to put her bow back in for her picture with the giraffe.

Clapping for the swinging Monkeys.

Checking out the Zebras

Telling Daddy all about the animals.

Enjoying the Train ride.

Cuddling with Daddy.

Kennedy really enjoyed the Birthday Zoo trip!

For Kennedy's Birthday Dinner I made her favorite Casserole!
As you can see, it was a big success.

Kennedy is really claiming her independence as a big girl & sometimes is very insistent about feeding herself with silverware. She is not very good with scooping the food up, but she will hand you the spoon, wait for you to load her up, & then feed herself. I must admit, I am very impressed with her hand-eye coordination.

No Birthday is complete without Cake.
Happy 1st Birthday Kennedy!

She really enjoyed her Birthday Cake.

All Clean....two baths later.
